Blaine Powers is currently a junior at Mattoon Community High School. Before high school, Blaine attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School, and then Mattoon Middle School. Blaine has two younger sisters, and his parents are Greg and Sarah Powers. One of Blaine’s favorite things to do is traveling, along with playing sports. He plays baseball, basketball, and golf at the High School. “I love winning, that’s why I love playing sports and competing against others. I would love to play one of these sports in college some day.”

Blaine also enjoys being outdoors. He likes to go fishing here in Illinois and also in Florida. Blaine has always excelled at his classes and is part of the National Honor Society. He also volunteers at the High School, and is part of the Bionic mentoring program that helps incoming freshmen transition into the high school.
At the age of ten, Blaine went around his neighborhood knocking on doors to try and get clients to provide lawn care service for. When he was ten years old in his first year of business he was mowing five yards around his neighborhood. He now provides lawn care service for more than 25 homeowners and businesses in the Coles County area and is looking forward to growing his business.
Blaine originally joined Class E in hopes to learn more about business, and to make new connections with local business leaders. “Being an entrepreneur has always fascinated me even from a young age. I definitely want to be an entrepreneur some day when I get older, and bring my ideas and creativity to life. After high school he plans to attend college somewhere in the midwest, and plans to major in business. He is hoping one day to become an entrepreneur around the Mattoon/Charleston area, and be involved with the community.
