The newest addition to Elevate’s internship program, Alex Fearday, brings a wealth of experience to our team in the fields of coding and 3D printing. Since applying in May, he has played a crucial role in the center’s research and development.
Alex plans to graduate from Lake Land College next year with a degree in IT Networking and Programming. His dedication to this career path stems from a life-long interest in computers and technology. Using his personal 3D printer, Alex has designed multiple projects, including a recently-completed component for Broadway Appliances in Mattoon.
Alex says his favorite part of working with Elevate is “being around like-minded people with similar interests.” Post-graduation, he is keeping his options open and is excited for the opportunities ahead. “I thank my professors at Lake Land for developing the tools I need to succeed and am glad to have the opportunity to gain experience at Elevate,” he said.
In a local economy driven by high tech innovations, Elevate grows the entrepreneur’s tech capabilities early and often, putting powerful new tools in the hands of small businesses. Alex and the team at Elevate are dedicated to helping new and existing business owners alike make data-driven decisions to manage their company’s growth. People like Alex fulfill our mission to “encourage, connect, and grow small and start-up businesses in the Coles County Area.”
We at Elevate are forever grateful for the hard work of our volunteers, staff, board of directors, and everyone in the Coles County Community who has played a role in welcoming our mission to this area. Due to this support, Elevate will continue to play a role in the development of local entrepreneurs for years to come.
